Why can’t you achieve your 10-year plan in 6 months? What would you do if you had a gun to your head? 

Which 10% of your life would you keep and which would you cut? Huge changes in life often come from small changes .

“The quality of your life stems from the quality of your questions” 

High achievers have many struggles. But they focus on the 1/2 things they do well and build around it.  

Many people use saunas. You should sweat daily. Deep breathes have many benefits – stress reduction is the easy example.

Fasting-look into it. Maybe restart your system and beat cancer.

Most people aren’t able to go 100% or completely turn-off. But that is very beneficial to long-term results .

Calm is contagious ... when you're a leader, people will mimic you

Sleep with no lights, get rid of your phone and TV at night .

Ask yourself at quarterly reviews: 80/20, what are my stresses? What am I continuing to do, fix it, delete it, or delegate it. 

Make your bed every morning – small sense of accomplishment will carry over into other areas .

We are all emotionally driven and attach ourselves to narratives. We get behind leaders who stir our feelings .

Don’t overestimate people on pedestals … no one is really that much better or smarter typically. 

Psychological ware far – Arnold would say, hey are you sick? and other versions to through off his competitors  

In negotiations, the person who cares the least will win – get to this point, results can compound  

Don’t be a donkey … you can do everything you want to do overtime, just focus on one task at a time. Let it compound. Some try to do too much at once 

Most people say yes to too much small stuff – that crap then fills up our lives.

An example about pressing for time 43 minutes vs. 45 to get the task done – the extra 2 minute benefit does not count for the hassles and stress  

Write down the 3/5 things you need to do today/things making you anxious -in the AM (I already do this before I leave work)…I believe Jaimie Dimon tackles his largest tasks.

 

life is short do stuff that matters

A measure of success is how little time you spend doing what you hate . 

Journaling may be helpful: getting the thoughts out of your head could make us clearer  

Most people are reactive, playing by other people’s rules … they play with the cards someone else deals  

Send people thank you notes – give more praise – give small gifts .. the ROI is insane  

No idea is too big, just take the first step.

Losers have a goal, winners have a system.

“What persistent skills or relationships can you develop? Don’t just have a short term goal” – “The former has higher snowball effects” . 

Diversification works in almost all parts of life to reduce stress .

To be successful: be top 25% in to areas, combine them, others will find it hard to replicate it . 

Amplify your strengths, don’t fix your weaknesses.  

Don’t be afraid to ask the dumb questions everyone else is thinking.  

People don’t want to help you when you complain. Instead, be a source of growth of people – focus on the positives.  

Start of sucking in front of ten people – that way you get it out of your system.  

In business and life, you have to ask for things – try going up to a store and asking for 10% off . 

A teacher kept saying “I don’t understand” to a student, it forced the student to keep refreshing – forcing him to think deeper and really understand it. 

The biggest mistake you can make is to accept the norms of your time  

Is the new technology better, so people discuss it, is it quieter, cheaper, etc. – can it go mass adoption.

Be vulnerable to get people to open up.

Find people’s incentives – make sure they are aligned.  

Don’t force things – no square pegs in round holes.  

Before bed, spend 5 minutes thinking about the days wins.  

Most things are idea and execution – don’t put too much pressure on either, look at them separate. 

Take as long as you want – no one will “feel the absence, only your return”.  

Happiness is a choice  

War guys felt less anxious and saw their cortisone levels drop when planning to get attacked … waiting around and the unknown was more stressful.  

You have to prepare yourself to fail, otherwise, you’ll going to live a life of caution.  

What advice are you ignoring because it’s cliche? Often times the best fixes are right in front of us. “Eat more veggies”.  

When someone’s upset, ask, have then eaten, is someone bothering them, have they slept, figure out what their pressure is .

Desire – it’s the contract for unhappiness. We aren’t happy till we obtain. 

“What you choose to work on and who you choose to work with are far more important than how hard you work”.  

Peak heart rate variability? State of flow – measure stress? 

Early in your craft – you should be spending time to earn money – but later, you should be spending money to earn time.  

People gravitate towards confidence – keep that up, no matter how much pain you have.

Aim for the heart, not the head.  

Listening is about being present, not just quiet. 

Everything is about compound interest – relationships, career, money. Stay away from toxic people.  

You are the 5 people you hang around with.  

You have three options: change, accept, or leave.  

 

What past limitations, real or perceived, are you carrying as baggage? Often times everything you want is just out of your comfort zone – go test it.  

Life’s not about waiting for the storm to pass – it’s about dancing in the rain.
